I finally had the chance to photograph a Mill City Museum wedding last weekend with the lovely Lauren and Jen.
If I could describe this wedding in one word it would be smiles! Looking over the many images from the day, the joy is abundant on everyone’s faces and it’s hard not to smile when seeing the epic grins.
A Mill city museum wedding is a prefect place to encapsulate the Twin Cities. This venue is not only chalked full of history but the scene itself is the perfect blend of texture and architecture new and old.
Jen and Lauren’s story started how all great love stories start, with a competitive football and a bet.
“The Philadelphia Phoenix women’s full-contact women’s football team are primed to start a new season. Driving their impressive defense, a pair of defensive ends (among other positions!) – Jen and Lauren. While we clearly liked each other on first meeting, if you have met either of us, you know how stubborn we can be. So a deal was born: Whoever gets the first sack of the season gets to be the one courted. That Saturday at our first game, Jen blew past the offensive linewoman trying to cover her, and pressured the quarterback. Trying to escape Jen’s oncoming tackle, the QB turned, only to find Lauren having also beat her offensive linewoman. Sack to Lauren! Jen asked Lauren out, and for the next 14 years, we have built our life together!”
During their ceremony I heard Lauren admit while there might be some disagreement of what exactly happened that day aka if Lauren had fairly won the bet, none the less on their wedding day Lauren confessed she was without a doubt, winning again because she was getting to marry Jen.
The rest of the day was filled with a pup first look, two wonderfully adorable show stealing kiddos and again, the epic laughs!
Thanks to the awesome vendors!
