After all of this super fun pandemic stuff, everyone has been talking about how weddings are changing or have already changed; but ultimately weddings are about two people who are in love and want their family and friends to support them and celebrate; it’s all about warm wishes and good hugs, belly laughs and even tears. So the size of wedding receptions might be altered but the bread and butter of it all will always remain the same. 

This whole sappy rant brings me to introduce this gorgeous end-of-summer Hutton House wedding, brought to you by two amazing women, Emily and Lauren who are both the best mix of adorable and bad-ass. They met through mutual friends and Emily beat Lauren to the big question while surrounded by family in Florida. Three weeks later; however, Lauren returned the favor and gave Emily her own ring with her proposal in California. Apparently, beaches are where proposals go best and so it went that they decided to take the plunge and do the damn thing. 

Since Lauren works in the wedding industry herself with the crew at Pink Peony, she already knew the venue she had in mind was the Hutton House in Minneapolis by Medicine Lake. 

Blending elegant and intimate, this modern wedding venue tucked within the city did a great job of offering the perfect spot for an outside wedding. It all felt like getting married in a little magic garden.

After the nuptials, there were amazing hugs and well-wishes, and even though tears were shed from time to time, real love still took the spotlight of the day proving my theory all along that alas, big or small, weddings will always be weddings and love will always be love.

Tell us your story! How did you meet? Who asked who out?

We met through mutual friends and we first hung out at Bad Weather Brewing in St. Paul and then brewery hoped from there! It was a very relaxed and fun first date!

How did the proposal go?

Great! Emily asked me in Florida and were surrounded by my whole family. It was perfect! About 3 weeks later I proposed back to her in California!
