Today, we’re celebrating the offbeat Minnesota wedding of Leah and Heather that turned a few traditions on their heads in the coolest ways! ! Documenting weddings is our passion and it allows us to look joy and love in the face with every new couple we work with and every wedding we shoot. Even better, we get to share this joy with others through photographs and blogging!

Leah and Heather wed at one of our favorite local venues: Green Acres Event Center. We even have a Green Acres FAQ blog with them if you’d like to learn more! The event hall is a stunning converted barn wall to wall in timber and classic rustic detailing. It’s a showstopper of a venue and – big bonus – it’s pet-friendly!

Leah and Heather had a lovely first look in front of this gorgeous tree!

Their ceremony was topped off with a colorful hand-fasting with each ribbon representing a special person who helped bring them together. So sweet! Then on the way down the aisle to their reception, the guests busted out bubble guns and filled the whole place with bubbles!

Another offbeat Minnesota wedding tradition they tweaked: Leah and Heather donated to the charity of choice for whoever caught the bouquets!

At the end of the night, Leah and Heather left their reception under the light of LED fairy wands, being sprinkled with the magic and love of all their family and friends 🙂
