Munich – beautiful, timeless, chock full of rich history and aesthetic. The capitol of Bavaria, Munich stands as one of Germany’s cultural, artistic, and economic hubs, and draws in world-wondering wanderers from all across the globe to take in the sites, the stories, the beer! And what better way to enjoy it than with a Munich wedding?
We recently travelled to this city on the River Isar to take in the sites and revel in the joy of adventure, and along the way, we met up with Susanne and Trevor for an epic Munich wedding photoshoot on their three-year anniversary!
If you’re a lover of Munich, of weddings, of travel – if you have the itch for a destination wedding – this blog is for you.
Enjoy 🙂
Above, Suzanne and Trevor take a stroll past the Feldherrnhalle, a Florentine-inspired loggia of sweeping archways. The two lions guarding the staircase are the work of famed Munich-based sculptor Wilhelm von Rümann. For you history buffs out there, this was also the site of the infamous Beer Hall Putsch of 1923.
One of our favorite shots of the day! Trevor and Suzanne demonstrating a lovely dip (learn how here!) in front of the dramatic neo-gothic inspired Neues Rathaus, or new town hall.
We were out in the incomparable Marienplatz – Munich’s city centre square – when we suddenly realized a small crowd had gathered to watch Trevor and Suzanne’s shoot!
We love it when people love love as much as we do!
Suzanne and Trevor in front of the bold Theatinerkirche, the Church of St. Catejan, from Munich’s square of Odeonsplatz. Big names, beautiful places!
Then we spent some time exploring the lovely Hofgarten, a 17th century central city garden inspired by the styles of the Italian Renaissance.
At the end of the day, Trevor and Suzanne took us out to a nearby biergarten for a delicious drink and shared their love of the city. We had so much fun with these two on our very first international photoshoot, and we can’t wait to visit this amazing city again.
So if you’re considering a Munich wedding, just keep in mind – we travel!
Adventure on, friends 🙂
