Laura and Matt decided to have a Como Zoo outdoor wedding and brewery reception which was an absolute fantastic combination for a wedding celebration.

For this particular laid back couple, they wanted their wedding to flow with fun and feel like everyone was gathering to enjoy themselves as well as celebrate the wedding that was a long time coming.

Laura and Matt were one of the lucky high-school sweetheart love stories that thrived and ended with that happily ever after. Through travels and career changes they stayed partners in crime and made their day a perfect reflection of themselves and their relationship.

Everyone involved in their wedding day was either a close friend or family member- the hair was done by her godmother, the makeup done by a family friend, even Laura’s own brother officiated.

They had their small ceremony at the Como Zoo outdoor beneath the bright Minnesota sun. I was privy to the information that the song Laura chose to walk down the isle to was a song that they danced to during their high school prom. The story was, they already had dates to the prom before they started dating, so during the prom, they snuck off and had a secret dance to themselves and the song was played during Laura’s stroll down the isle.

I was so excited to have heard that this was a surprise to Matt so that when I turned to photograph his reaction, I enjoyed it on a whole other level.

After the long awaited nuptials, a party bus took the crew to the Lab brewery. Yet another fantastic detail as Matt actually works at the Lab and was able to have the entire brewery to themselves to host their amazing friends and family.

We’ve never had such a unique reception that really just felt like a relaxed and casual gathering of friends and family who got to pour their own custom beers on tap and enjoy the ambiance.

There was beer pong, bags, and other yard games played among the guest, and Laura and Mat were able to socialize and get the well wishes from everyone throughout the night.

There was even enough space for some dancing which was fantastic because wedding receptions just yearn for dancing.

These two really pulled off an amazingly relaxed and casual yet beautiful wedding for themselves, with the help of all of their friends and family, and we are so glad we got to cheers them at the end of it all with a nice collaboration beer! Cheers to Laura and Matt.
