Today, we’re showcasing a Silverwood Park sunset engagement in one of our favorite local Minneapolis parks – Silverwood Park! Silverwood is a little park that packs a big punch. Sitting on the edge of Silverwood Lake, it’s got a loop of paved trail lined in trees and sculptures gardens, clearings full of wildflowers and green grasses, and a big forest of old oak trees. It’s got a community center with a cafe, teaching cabins, and its own little island connected by bridge where geese and ducks roost! They offer a little swimming beach in the summer, boats to rent, fishing, and a volleyball space, so if you hold your engagement photos here, you can make a whole day of it!
A Silverwood Park sunset engagement is great all-season too! In spring, everything starts to green up and bud and the chipmunks and frogs and birds come out. In summer, it’s blissfully green and dotted with wildflowers and full of energy. Fall is stunning with all the big oak trees, maples, and birches turning umber and red and yellow. Even in winter, the park boasts a lovely peaceful calm and the whole lake freezes over. Plus, you can also get hitched at Silverwood!
The sun had set and I was able to get this last shot of the night! How romantic!
