Nothing says Adventure Session like traveling from Minneapolis to the Rocky Mountain National Park in northern Colorado, hiking about 2 miles straight up to the iconic Dream Lake, and striking a pose for some epic Estes Park engagement session photos!

We always encourage our clients to be adventurous and go with the flow, but Ali and Nick (Check out their amazing wedding) went above and beyond. LITERALLY.  As most Minnesotans know, ice and snow can be tricky to traverse through. Well, the tricky part about the Rockies is, that at the base of a mountain is one type of climate and at the top is a completely different one. Never the less, we braved the gorgeous scenery of Estes Park. Starting at Bearlake , we took the time to accept the ridiculous grandeur of the snow-covered mountains and started our trek. Full disclosure, none of us had been to Dream Lake so we were all getting quite antsy about how the peak of this adventure was going to turn out. Did you see what I did there? 🙂

When we finally arrived, we all agreed that the effort was totally worth it! The view was amazing and the sky was changing from sunshine to cloudy to a mixture of texture and color every second. Also, because of the recent snow and how fun it was to hike there, we had the place practically to ourselves along with a few other daring souls (and their photographers.)

Once we were completely frozen, we made our way back down to Bear Lake by sliding, crab-walking and gracefully falling all in time to catch the sunset and reflect on just how badass the whole experience was. 

We were so glad we had our adorable engaged couple to travel to Colorado from the Twin cities for some amazing engagement photos and highly encourage anyone else itching to get away to some cool destinations engagement photos to let us know immediately!
