Average is boring amiright? Melani and Alexis had elements of their wedding as unique as their love for one another and that’s what made this Loring Social wedding completely bright and gay. 

Let’s talk winter solstice, shall we? These two gorgeous ladies decided to get married at the Loring Social in Minneapolis right near Loring Park on the shortest day of the year yet managed to get a warm day filled with sunshine. Obviously the solstice powers that be really pulled through for them as the ceremony was filled with candle-lantern lightings, handfasting, and music.

Both brides included bits and pieces of their lives into the day starting with the love of The Mall of America, the second home of Alexis and great memories. Here the couple joined their friends to get pumped up and ready to take on the wedding day plus got to partake in their first look for the wedding day!

Now Melani was born with music in her soul so during the vows, she sang her love for Alexis with her guitar and brought everyone smiling tears. Melani’s mom then conducted a choir of family and friends, and then during the reception Melani even surprise debuted an original love song to her new wife with her rock band. This is the sort of stuff we live for during weddings! Unique and meaningful new concepts really customize a wedding. 

Earl and I always talk about LGBTQ weddings and how they are some of our favorites and this one proved our theory yet again. The amount of support and love that show up for LQBTQ weddings is overwhelmingly beautiful and although I’m not typically a sappy person, I’m always filled with happy tears when I listen to parents, family, and friends speak about the couple as they wish them genuine happiness on their adventure in life together. 

Cheers to Alexis and Melani! You did the damn thing!
