An outdoor Texas wedding, a beautiful chapel, an adorable couple – we were head over heels for Sabrina and Carey’s big day! Their lovely wedding took advantage of the rustic beauty of a local chapel and the surrounding nature – including fall leaves. Sabrina was stunning in full-length veil, and Carey quite the match 🙂 For another beautiful Texas wedding, check out Stephanie and Kyle’s big day!
An outdoor Texas wedding can seem a little intimidating, since much of Texas’s weather can be on the warm, hot, extra hot, and super humid varieties. But there are plenty of ways to mitigate these factors to ensure you can have the outdoor wedding of your dreams! We outlined a few here:
- Being mindful of the season: An outdoor wedding in Texas is very different in November than it is in August – consider setting your date October through April!
- Tenting and Shade: Consider ordering tents, taking advantage of local tree coverage, or booking a venue with an open-air event space to get the best of both worlds!
- Timing: Weddings early or late in the day can mitigate the heat – and help you take advantage of gorgeous lighting.
- Vulnerable Guests: Some guests may be more sensitive to heat than others – like very young or elderly guests – so it’s important to ensure they have options for shade or a place to retreat to if it gets too hot outside!
- Fans and A/C: Portable fans and air conditioning are available to rent to make sure cooler heads prevail!
- Hydration: If you’re having an outdoor wedding, stock plenty of hydrating drinks and water for you and you guests.
- Party Favors: Your friends and families might also appreciate some paper fans on their ceremony chairs or little sun shade umbrellas!
Sabrina and Carey’s first look was extra special under the stone and vine greenery at the chapel.
The cutest little chapel wedding wouldn’t be complete without the cutest little couple portrait!
For Sabrina and Carey’s outdoor Texas wedding, we were lucky enough to capture the bright crisp yellows of changing leaves! Fall colors bring out the best of the season 🙂
