When Vanessa and Thor planned their outdoor Pier B wedding for the sunny stretches of June, they expected the warmth of summer, but the weather had other plans! While this kind of unexpected turn might be enough to stress out the calmest of couples, the rain and the chill couldn’t stop this indomitable duo and their amazing and family friends! We can’t wait to share their unexpected wedding adventure with you below 🙂

The morning began with prep – makeup, hair, ties, drinks!

Vanessa and Thor shared a First Look in the lounge – a intimate and fun opportunity to see each other for the first time before the ceremony 🙂

They took a moment together after their first look to let the reality of their big day sink in.
Even though it was rainy and chilly out, Vanessa and Thor ventured forth for some epic couples portraits.
A perk of a Pier B wedding? It’s right on the waterfront with views of Duluth’s awesome Lift Bridge!
To celebrate their favorite people, the whole wedding party loaded up and visited Vikre Distillery in downtown Duluth for a few drinks before their Pier B wedding! It was easy to see how important their family and friends were to Vanessa and Thor on their big day 🙂
One the way back to the venue, the wedding party cut loose in the streets of Duluth!
We stopped traffic, but the friendly city honked and yelled their congratulations!
While there was a fire alarm incident, all was well and the ladies snagged a shot with the firefighters!
Nothing beats the faces we capture while their love is walking down the aisle toward them!
Through a few tears, they said their vows together in front of family and friends 🙂

Before the reception got into full swing, we snagged a few romantic shots in the glow of post-ceremony bliss!

Thor shared the sweetest story during the reception! Both Thor and Vanessa met as bartenders at different bars and would visit each other and tip the same five dollar bill, writing little notes to each other on it each time.
You might remember from Thor and Vanessa’s engagement adventure that these two are masters of the dramatic dip – a favorite photographer pose! Here they are at the wedding showing off those same skills!
