At Penny Photographics, we always say that weddings should be a reflection of the couple – from style to energy, we love seeing how a big day comes together!

With that in mind, we can safely say that Missy and Aaron’s Afton State Park elopement was perfect! With only a handful of family and friends, they escaped into the natural beauty of Minnesota’s Afton State Park – a park known for its beautiful river views and seasonal wildflowers, perfectly situated on the St. Croix. They said their vows by the water under leaf-filtered golden afternoon light, and it was BEAUTIFUL!

After getting ready in a nearby inn, Missy headed for her nature-infused Afton State Park elopement and wondered down a tree-studded path into her pop up tent to change into her wedding dress.

The ceremony was small and sweet, with St. Croix River subtly crashing on the beach behind them.

After the vows, we snuck off and I got to capture these two newlyweds in their element!

Their Afton State Park elopement was perfectly simple and beautiful – just like the love, we got to capture between Missy and Aaron! Congrats to the happy couple!
